oporto all the way!

Assalamualaikum, morning Malaysia! It’s a cold, wintry morning here that brings me and my friends Hafiz and Ilham to Oporto Restaurant. Actually, I was looking for something HALAL in fast food for breakfast and I noticed this place out of the corner of my eye. If I'm not mistaken it's somewhere in Queen St Brisbane...

 Oporto, famous for its burgers. This place is chicken place, reasonably good, and excellently priced.

  One of the guys I know, Ilham from University of Queensland (UQ) recommended it to me, he told me he "eats it everyday". Urmm...I was like, could it be that good? hehe...

There are lots of kebab, pizza, sandwich takeaway places and there are food courts in all of the shopping centres that have all the usual options...

yeahh...finally, I had one today. Fresh grilled chicken breast fillets, fresh tomato, cheese, mayo and Oporto's deliciously prego sauce. I quite enjoy Oporto, the chicken is usually well done! So I highly recommend at least trying it once!

first day in Brisbane...

Assalamualaikum...What’s up Malaysia! haha...I’m back, as promised, with a new blog entry. Just a quick entry to let you know that I am now in Brisbane. Alhamdulillah finally dah selamat sampai. Today in St. Lucia, Brisbane temperatures around 12° C. Average night is around 10° C but can get down towards 5° C. Quite cold here but certainly won't freeze to death! hehe...My experience so far in Brisbane life is very good, the local people are always nice and there is lots of good shopping mall in Brisbane...

I would say 90% of the time the weather is absolutely perfect but it is never hotter than Kuala Lumpur and it never snows here. Just a bit of rain..

I am going to Brisbane soon...

Alhamdulillah, I finally got my acceptance from Applied Optics Research Program in Queensland University of Technology (QUT) for my attachment at Photometry Laboratory. Urmmm...a bit nervous coz I have never even been to Brisbane before! So what should I see and where should I go? I am just thinking of compiling a list of things to do and see, or places to go in Brisbane and also those outside Brisbane but still inside Australia...

Shopping time!...at Winter Time (quality winter apparel), Jusco Wangsa Maju. HARGA RUNTUH! So I decided to take wool mix grey gloves and green acrylic scarf...

 Red spot!! I am considering live with somebody who knows the area and the culture. I want to make the most of my time there...Any advice would be great! Thanks!

no more exams!

Assalamualaikum...Morning! I've just done on my final exam last Friday! Its over guys. I've officially survived my second year as a doctorate student, a bit harder but I managed to do it! Alhamdulillah...I will hopefully find out my exam grade soon, and will let everyone know. Since I won't be going back to class for almost 3 month, I plan to catch up on a few things I've been working on now especially my PhD research...

Celebrate with my friends at Nandos, now back to my normal life...makan-makan!

 I am also thankful to everyone, my family, my supervisory committee, Dr. Anita, Dr. Salmiah, Assc. Prof. Dr. Siti Zawiah (UM), Dr. Haliza, my friends at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM); Tri Murti, Wan Fei, Feezah, Shafa, Nada and Wilson...

I truly could not have made it through this semester without any of you, and I am so grateful for the amazing 'support system' I have in my life...yeahh!

The perfect carrot cake!

ehmmm...Well, I'm not quite sure what to say about this carrot cake, honestly without a doubt, everthing is delicious, why?? coz ada orang belanja EqbalZack lunch hari ni, hehe. So I wanted to share the passion carrot cake with all of you. It's absolutely, positively so good, not to sweet and good amount of carrot with 'lelehan' cream cheese icing...

Today's lunch, looks yummy! Carrot cake with walnuts is the best thing ever...

Incredibly brilliant Professor!

...with her final lecture last Friday, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haliza is, indeed,the best lecturer I've ever had!!! Probably the most intelligent professor I have had so far. It's amazing to see someone lecture without notes. She remembers EVERY proof; even her examples come out perfectly. 

 Thank You Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haliza,“She had a discussion with us, not a lecture,” her explanations on Medical Anthropology and Medical Sociology in Health Care (SPH5422) are amazingly clear!!! It's not exactly the easiest subject actually, you have to study hard, but I learned a lot.
